AC ST. LOUIS TO HOST “UNSUNG HEROES” GAME
ST. LOUIS, MO (July 30, 2010) – AC St. Louis, playing in the USSF Division 2 Pro League, will host a special event this Sunday prior to their match against the NSC Minnesota Stars. St. Louis area police officers will be facing off against St. Louis area firefighters for a special “Unsung Heroes Soccer Classic” match at The Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Unsung Heroes are a non-profit organization whose sporting tournament profits benefit the Backstoppers. The Backstoppers is an organization that provides assistance to the families of police officers and firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty.
On Sunday, all of the participants playing in the game will either be a police officer or a firefighter. The very men who put their lives on the line everyday to help, assist, and protect the residents of their communities. The players in the “Unsung Heroes” game on Sunday not only work in these communities, but also have lived or currently live in the communities in which they serve.
Gates to The Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park will open at 2:15, with the Unsung Heroes match kicking off at 2:45. Any ticket purchased for Sunday’s game will also serve as admittance to AC St. Louis 5:10 match against Minnesota. AC St. Louis will also donate $1 dollar from every walk up ticket purchased on Sunday to the Unsung Heroes Organization.
AC St. Louis’ next home match is on Sunday August 1 at 5:10 p.m. against the NSC Minnesota Stars. Tickets are still available and can be obtained by calling 1-888-STL-GOAL, or by visiting www.ac-stlouis.com.

The Unsung Heroes Soccer Organization was founded in May 2009 by active Law Enforcement that truly believes in the Brotherhood. We are open to police officers or firefighters serving in any community in the United States of America.
